About Team
The Observability and Storage team plays a pivotal role in enabling Target's $100B+ retail platform by providing essential cloud platform capabilities. We empower engineering teams across Target to understand and improve the reliability and performance of their products. Additionally, our team delivers object store capabilities critical to our AI, MLOps, and data storage strategies.

About the Role
As a Senior Engineering Manager leading our observability and storage capabilities you will be accountable for leading the full stack engineers that are building, maintaining, and supporting mission critical capabilities. You’ll cultivate a learning culture while developing a diverse, inclusive, and empowered team of engineers to solve problems which oftentimes have not been solved anywhere with open source or vendor solutions. Due to Target’s sheer size...we manage many Petabytes of data...existing solutions are often not the right ones for us. You’ll partner closely with product and the principle engineer to create technical and feature roadmaps that keep the customer at the center of everything we do while ensuring the technical foundation is secure, stable, performant, scalable and efficient. You will be called upon to be the technical representative for your team during cross-team collaborative efforts and planning. Success in this role will require strong and innovative approaches to problem solving, great technical leadership, excellent communication (written and verbal, formal and informal), flexibility, accountability and a self-motivated working style with attention to detail.

About You
Desired Qualifications:
Supporting 24x7 business critical capabilites.
Building and operating large, distributed datasets.
Building and deploying scalable APIs and microservices.
Utilizing modern object, file, and block storage solutions.
Utilizing version control products, preferably with Git.
With Linux or Unix operating systems.
Working in a product environment and across multiple teams.
Instrumenting products with telemetry to make them observable.
Clearly communicating complex technical solutions to an organization in verbal, written, and presentation forms.
Strong sense of ownership and the ability to work with a limited set of requirements.Coaching and mentoring engineers on architecture, modern engineering practices and technologies
Minimum Qualifications:
Has in-depth knowledge of technical approaches to design, build, test, and debug problems as required by domain.
Maintains technical knowledge within areas of expertise.
Stays current with new and evolving technologies.
