Job Summary and Qualifications
The Medical Assistant is responsible for direct patient care under the supervision of the Center’s licensed professionals, carries out daily clinic activities and assists the Front Desk Coordinator as needed. The Medical Assistant performs duties consistent with the scope of practice and functions within the philosophy and overall plan of care at HealthONE/HCA.
What qualifications you will need:
Current BLS Certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross . CNA or MA with active license/certification preferred.
Completion of medical assistant training through accredited program
One (1) year in healthcare setting required
Direct patient care including, but not limited to: vital signs, capillary blood glucose monitoring, wound photography, assisting licensed personnel with removal of dressings, wound measurements, biopsies, cultures, debridement, application of dressing, application and removal of Total Contact Casting. Effective verbal skills and written communication. Communicates positively and professionally with all internal and external customers. Equipment used may include but is not limited to Sensilase PADIQ Machine, DINAMAP/Non-invasive blood pressure machine, glucometer, podiatric exam chair, exam light, wheelchairs/stretchers, cast saw, Doppler, advanced wound care dressings, Hoyer lift, oxygen, multilayer compression wraps, bandage scissors, personal protective equipment, fax/copy machine/computer.
Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
