A great career opportunity for an Application Engineer / Color Service Technician to join an international company that develops precision color measurement instruments and software for diverse markets.
This fully remote role with X-Rite Pantone will suit someone who is passionate about the universe of colour and technology, speaks fluent Italian & English, and enjoys regularly visiting customers.
The Opportunity:
X-Rite Pantone is a world-leading provider of spectrophotometers, camera-based optical measurement products and related software to companies across a diverse range of sectors including paint, packaging, automotive, textile, plastics, and cosmetics.
Based remotely at home in Northern Italy (Lombardia, Veneto, Emilia etc) and travelling regularly to customer sites in Italy and occasionally further afield, the Application Engineer role is technically challenging, highly stimulating and offers significant work variety.
The jobholder will install systems, provide product/workflow training and on-site/remote technical support to customers, conduct impactful pre-sales demos, attend trade shows, prepare technical documentation, and provide valuable input into future product development and beta testing.
The Ideal Candidate:
Degree-qualified Engineer with studies and/or experience in a color-related profession (i.e. laboratory technician or similar within graphic arts, paints, plastics, textiles etc.)
IT knowledge: infrastructure, networking, databases, cloud computing, server operating systems etc
Strong customer focus, excellent communication skills (fluent English & Italian is mandatory) and a logical and tenacious approach to problem solving
Drives, lives in Northern Italy (ideally not far from an airport) and is flexible to travel widely, including some overnight stays away home

Con sede in remoto a casa nel nord Italia (Lombardia, Veneto, Emilia, ecc.) e viaggiando regolarmente presso le sedi dei clienti in Italia e occasionalmente più lontano, il ruolo di Application Engineer è tecnicamente impegnativo, altamente stimolante e offre una significativa varietà di lavoro.
Il titolare del lavoro installerà sistemi, fornirà formazione sul prodotto/flusso di lavoro e supporto tecnico in loco/remoto ai clienti, condurrà dimostrazioni pre-vendita di grande impatto, parteciperà a fiere, preparerà documentazione tecnica e fornirà preziosi input per lo sviluppo futuro del prodotto e il beta testing.
Il Candidato Ideale:
Ingegnere laureato con studi e/o esperienza in una professione legata al colore (es. tecnico di laboratorio o simile nel settore delle arti grafiche, vernici, plastica, tessile, ecc.)
Conoscenze informatiche: infrastrutture, networking, database, cloud computing, sistemi operativi server, ecc
Forte attenzione al cliente, eccellenti capacità di comunicazione (italiano e inglese fluenti sono obbligatori) e un approccio logico e tenace alla risoluzione dei problemi.
Vive nel nord Italia (idealmente non lontano da un aeroporto) ed è flessibile per viaggiare molto, compresi alcuni pernottamenti fuori casa
