Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in Acushnet, Massachusetts

Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Payable Clerk in New Bedford, Massachusetts. In this role, will be responsible for processing vendor invoices, reconciling accounts, and providing administrative support to the accounting department.

Responsibilities:

• Review, code, and process vendor invoices accurately, including verifying subcontract and insurance certificate details, as well as sales tax.

• Distribute and forward invoices for approval from the appropriate Project Manager.

• Prepare and process payments to vendors, ensuring all necessary documentation is in order.

• Maintain organized files for open and paid invoices, as well as subcontractor and hired trucker insurance certificate requirements.

• Conduct regular reconciliation of vendor accounts to statements and accounts payable to the general ledger.

• Respond promptly to inquiries from vendors and staff regarding paid and unpaid invoices.

• Provide administrative support to the accounting department, including answering phones when necessary.

• Maintain and update state agency reporting for subcontractor payments.

• Utilize skills in Accounts Payable (AP), Purchase Orders, Code Invoices, Vendor Contracts, Vendor Contacts, Account Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations to perform tasks effectively.

Requirements • Proficiency in handling Accounts Payable (AP) operations

• Experience with Purchase Orders management

• Ability to accurately Code Invoices

• Knowledge of Vendor Contracts and the ability to manage them effectively

• Strong ability in maintaining Vendor Contacts and fostering positive relationships

• Experience in Account Reconciliation and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies

• Proficiency in conducting Bank Reconciliations

• Experience in Balance Sheet Reconciliation and ensuring financial records are accurate and up-to-date

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

• Good communication skills, both written and verbal

• Proficiency in using accounting software and other related software tools.
