Actalent Structural Design Engineer in Akron, Ohio
Structural Design Engineer
Join our dynamic team as a Structural Design Engineer to assist a Professional Engineer in the design of various structural components such as steel frame connections, stair systems, platform systems, and other miscellaneous building structural items. In this role, you will prepare formal reports to clearly communicate design specifications and capacities to clients. Your responsibilities will include reviewing fabrication drawings to ensure they conform to design specifications, communicating necessary corrections to the detailing team, maintaining project timelines, effectively communicating project status with peers and management, providing accurate technical reporting, and problem-solving for both fabrication and field issues that arise post-design.
Hard Skills
Engineering design and calculations for structural and miscellaneous steel systems
Evaluates designs for overall effectiveness, cost, reliability, and safety
Adherence to Quality Control procedures
Review of fabrication drawings for conformance to design specifications
Generation of engineering reports and drawing redline
Qualifications:
Looking for someone with a Bachelor’s and 1-2 years of structural experience.
Software- Autocad and Risa- need to have some experience with these (educational experience is OK)
Need to be on site in their Akron office
