Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in Albany, New York
Description
We are seeking to hire Part-Time Accounts Payable Clerk for our client based in Albany, New York. This role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing data entry of daily sales information, reconciliation of store daily deposits, and processing vendor invoices among other duties.
Responsibilities
Timely and Detail-Oriented Task Performance:
Manage the data entry of daily sales information into accounting software.
Reconcile store daily deposits and enter data into accounting software.
Generate sales reports on a weekly and as-needed basis for staff, management.
Reconcile credit card statements and other accounts as assigned by the Finance Manager.
Process vendor invoices daily in the A/P system.
Correspond daily with vendors and department managers to fulfill requests, resolve issues, and maintain the AP invoice email account.
Resolve discrepancies or fraud with the credit card processor.
Manage A/R, including billing purchases on account, manufacturer coupon resumptions, and bad checks.
Maintain vendor files, including W9s and certificates of insurance.
Enter the annual budget into accounting software.
Generate monthly reports, including donations reports.
Requirements
Requirements & Experience
Proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite
Familiarity with SMS or other POS Software is a plus
Excellent customer service skill as this position works directly with vendors
Flexible with schedule based on seasonal demands, including occasional weekends
Detail oriented and experience working in a high paced retail environment
Energetic and adaptable to the changes in a competitive grocery environment
Knowledge and understanding of cooperative principles and basic accounting principles
