The Department of Visual & Performing Arts at Russell Sage College (RSC) seeks applications for teaching positions in Art History at the rank of Adjunct Instructor to start August 2024. Ideal candidates will have experience working with diverse populations and credentials to teach Art History 1 and 2 (survey) and/or courses in the candidate's areas of expertise such as History of Modern Art, Photography, Graphic Design, Architecture, Non-Western Art, etc.

Adjunct compensation is currently $900 per credit hour (depending on staffing needs and enrollment)

Job Requirements:

MA, MFA, or Ph.D. (including ABD) in Art History, Visual Studies, Studio Art, or a closely related field. Previous college or university-level teaching experience. Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary teaching pedagogies. Evidence of ability to collegially collaborate with staff and faculty from other disciplines.
