Broadview FCU Facilities Technician in Albany, New York

Summary of Role :

The Facilities Technician (F T ) performs both scheduled building maintenance, emergency repairs and after-hours response when directed.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities :

Scheduled Maintenance

  • Perform general building maintenance when directed

  • Perform basic carpentry, wall finishing and painting, door hinge and lock repairs

  • Service teller line drawers, cabinets, and associated teller line locks and may be expected to make minor banking equipment repairs when trained and proficient

  • Complete work orders daily; noting status if not completed and description of resolution as completed

  • Assist vendors during normal and after-hours access for department systems to include UPS/Switchgear/Generators/Electrical panels/HVAC/FM200, Fire suppression systems

  • Perform minor asphalt, building façade, concrete, electrical, HVAC, lighting replacement, plumbing, and roof repairs at both administrative and branch locations across New York State

    Emergency Response

  • Re spond (when on-call) to building emergencies when received, provide leadership with a brief analysis to aide in decisioning to return to service as soon as possible damaged items

  • Make minor temporary repairs, provide afterhours access when directed and serve as Director representative when required for emergency response

    Other Duties

  • Support department requirements such as afterhours events on the campus

  • Assume Facili ties Operations Coordinator responsibilities when directed

  • Support company operations, ensure supervisors are informed of task statuses

  • Perform other duties as assigned by Directorate leadership

    Minimum Job Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or Graduate Equivalency Degree (GED)

  • M inimum of Three ( 3 ) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Must possess a valid driver's license with no violations

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings, schematics, sketches, and layouts

  • Working knowledge of techniques, materials, tools, and equipment used to perform job duties

    Special Requirements :

  • Workplace/p hysical d emands/work environment

  • Employee will adhere to OSHA workplace safety standards

  • Employee may at times be directed to work additional hours when required to complete major projects

  • R equired to travel between administrative buildings, branches, and or various vendor locations daily

  • Employee may be required to fill-in for other team members during holiday schedules or staffing challenges

  • In performance of daily duties, employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear without limitations , operate machinery, and power tools

  • E mployee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, or crouch without limitations

  • E mployee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 7 5 pounds

  • This job can be noisy at times , and you may be working in proximity with others (both inside and outside of the organization)

  • In the normal course of the day, employee may be exposed to above or below temperatures when in conduct of shipping and receiving and or warehousing operations

    Starting Compensation: $20.68 - $24.82/hr., plus a competitive benefits package.
