Lead Security Officer - Albany Memorial Hospital - Full Time Nights

What you will do:

The selected candidate would under direction of the Security Director, conduct investigations for cases or incidents involving the safety and security of SPHP colleagues, patients, visitors, vendors or others as directed. Offenses or events requiring investigation and preparation of a complete and thorough report and liaison with appropriate law enforcement, investigative authority and Senior Leadership. The candidate will need to document and follow through with detailed and concise reports involving potential fraud, waste or abuse of corporate resources, imminent threat to life, safety, procedural or other condition requiring investigation. Finally, they would demonstrate St. Peter’s Health Partners Standards of Behavior and Core Values.

Responsibilities:

  • Assigns subordinate personnel to specific posts and duties.

  • Monitors the activity of subordinate and insures staff follows established policies, procedures and guidelines.

  • Performs Desk Operations:

  • -Completes all necessary paper work including but not limited to blotter entries, shift reports, incident reports and property reports.

  • Answers incoming telephone calls.

  • Dispatches personnel including facilities and security staff to calls for service.

  • Monitors all alarms and systems in the Security Command Center.

  • Sells parking permits and issues parking passes pursuant to hospital and department policies and procedures

  • Responsible for the safekeeping of all patient property and valuables in the custody of the Protective Services/Security Department.

  • Responsible for the safekeeping of all funds stored in the departmental safe relative to the Hospital's Visitor Parking Program.

  • Responsible for all activity inside the Security Command Center insuring that the suite remains safe and that no unauthorized personnel enter the area.

  • Pick up hours as the need arises, at Acute care facilities, other than primary work location.

What you will need:

  • NYS Security License and current Training Certificate

  • Active Police officer certification; active police officers will need to obtain NYS security guard license within 90 days of hire

  • High School Diploma / GED

  • 2 year's experience preferred

  • Valid NYS Driver's License

  • Computer skills, good oral, written communications, interpersonal and analytical skills sufficient to document investigative activities.

Pay Range:$26.00 - $35.70

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
