Albany Medical Center Radiation Therapist III in Albany, New York

The radiation therapist will administer ionizing radiation and radioactive substances to patients under the supervision of a Radiation Oncologist and in accordance with New York State Department of Health Code part 16. guidelines. In addition, the radiation therapist must operate high voltage machinery safely and accurately and to communicate to pertinent personnel when malfunctions occur. The radiation therapist will concern themselves with the welfare of the patient at all times and will conduct themselves in a responsible and professional manner. Satisfactory completion of a training program in a Radiation Therapy Technology program in an AMA approved school, meeting the requirements for registry by the ARRT, and being licensed as a Radiation Therapist by the State of New York Department of Health (see the AMC Radiation Therapist Temporary Permit and Registration Process) is required
