Minimum Qualifications To be eligible for the Registered Nurse 1 (Health Services), G-18 position you must be in possession of a license and current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State and meet one of the following conditions: NY HELPS: This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS). For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, this title may be filled via a non-competitive appointment, which means NO EXAMINATION IS REQUIRED, but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply. At a future date (within one year of permanent appointment), it is expected employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, WITHOUT HAVING TO TAKE A CIVIL SERVICE TEST. Employees will then be afforded with all of the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State. While serving permanently in a NY HELPS title, employees may take part in any promotion examination for which they are qualified.Transfer:One year of permanent, contingent-permanent, or 55b/c service allocated to a G-16 or higher eligible for transfer under Section 52.6 or Section 70.1 of Civil Service Law, or currently serving in the title and eligible for reassignment. Reinstatement:If you previously served in this title or in a title otherwise transferable to this title, you may be considered for reinstatement pursuant to Civil Service Law, if it is in the best interest of the agency. If you left state service more than one year ago, the reinstatement must also be approved by the Civil Service Commission. All reinstatements must serve a mandatory 52-week probation period. 55b/c Appointment:This position is eligible for 55b/c designation and candidates with 55b/c eligibility are encouraged to apply. Duties Description Duties include but are not limited to: · Providing treatment, including emergency care as well as advise employees to obtain outside care and treatment and refer them to care providers and support organizations · Recording signs and symptoms and complete forms and records for all patients.· Administering the Employee Health Service Station by organizing and maintaining the Station, maintaining records, ordering supplies, maintaining equipment and provide privacy room for employees. · Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with DMV managers, community health organizations, physicians, and other health care providers.· Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Automated External Defibrillators (AED) and first aid.· Consulting with the Office of General Services Parking Services (OGS Parking) to assess requests and determine eligibility for medical parking.· Promoting the health, wellness, and fitness of employees.· Planning, scheduling, conducting, and evaluating health education programs.· Administering for DMV and consulting with the AO 7 on lunchtime wellness programs, including recruitment and scheduling for Swan Street location. · Acting as the coordinator and contact for DMV Blood Drives with the American Red Cross.· Collaborating with the AO 7 and Executive Team in the development of such events as a DMV Health Fair and an Employee Development Week.· Attending Health & Safety and EAP committee meetings.· Attending internal agency meetings as needed · Responding to health-related concerns reported by management and employees and promoting occupational health outreach programs regarding occupational health and safety awareness.
