Electrical Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

The maintenance technician is responsible for performing duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment according to established procedures in a safe and efficient manner.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment (motor controls, DC/AC drives and controls, frying equipment, temperature instrumentation, burner systems and controls, packaging machines, electronic scales, programmable logic controllers, weld aluminum, mild, or stainless steel using Mig or Tig).

  • Perform mechanical skills including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and machine repairs.

  • Coordinate and complete installation and wiring of manufacturing equipment (pumps, fans, blowers, and relay panels, etc.).

  • Prepare, coordinate, and implement preventative maintenance.

  • Detect faulty operations, defective materials, and document and report any unusual findings to the proper supervision.

  • Comply with all GMP and safety regulations.

Essential Skills

  • Mechanical troubleshooting

  • Electrical troubleshooting

  • PLC troubleshooting

  • Ability to read an ohmmeter, ammeter, voltmeter, multimeter

  • Capable of working with voltages 24-480

  • Basic computer skills

  • Knowledge and skills in electrical, mechanical, and electronic applications acquired through a minimum of three years of experience (education or professional)

  • Comfortable with reading schematics

  • Ability to lift objects up to 100 lbs, walk/stand for the majority of the work shift, and work at heights up to 30 feet

  • Comfortable performing preventative maintenance such as greasing, lubricating, and changing bearings

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • PLC programming

  • Welding and fabrication experience

  • VFD drives

  • Sensors

  • Photo eyes

Work Environment

Work on the 3rd shift from 10:30 pm to 6:30 am, with training starting on days and transitioning to swing and then nights. The facility is warm and can get very hot during the summer. You will work around machinery and production products such as chips, popcorn, and other goods. The facility and machinery are cleaned every Friday. The environment can be dirty at times due to dealing with chips and grease. Safety gear includes hi-vis vests, hand protection, nitrile gloves when handling pallets/wood, PVC gloves when exchanging propane tanks, safety glasses, coveralls or pant/shirt uniforms, and welding shields. General cleanliness and hygiene practices are strictly enforced, including handwashing upon entering the manufacturing area, after breaks, and when hands become soiled or contaminated. Appropriate clothing for the production area includes full-length pants, no loose-fitting clothing, and no open-toed shoes or high heels.

This is a Permanent position based out of Algona, Washington.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $73000.00/yr.
