Anticipated period of employment: 05/02/2025 to 11/01/2025
Workers must have at least 3 months experience as a farmworker. Applicants must be able to furnish affirmative job references from recent employers operating comparable operations establishing acceptable previous experience. Must be physically able to meet and perform all job specifications stated in job order. Must be able to work in the hot humid weather for extended periods of time. Workers are subject to random drug testing at no cost to the employee.
Crops: Flowering Annuals, Perennials, Ornamental Plants, Fruit, Garden Vegetables and Herbs. Job duties: Workers will assist in all aspects of greenhouse plant production, from planting to shipping. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: 1. Planting & Propagation: Sowing seeds, transplanting seedlings, and propagating cuttings, Preparing growing trays, soil, and planting media, Labeling plants and organizing crops according to production schedules 2. Crop Maintenance: Watering plants according to scheduled needs, Fertilizing, pruning, staking, and deadheading plants, Monitoring plant growth and adjusting environmental conditions as needed, Identifying and reporting plant health issues 3. Greenhouse Cleaning & Preparation: Removing plant debris and maintaining clean work areas, sanitizing trays, pots, and equipment to prevent disease spread, preparing greenhouse growing areas for new crop cycles 4. Pest & Disease Management: Assisting with plant health monitoring, reporting pests or disease outbreaks to supervisors, Assisting in non-chemical pest control measures as necessary 5. Packing & Shipping: Selecting, sorting, and packing plants for shipment, Labeling and preparing orders for transportation, Loading packed plants onto delivery trucks 6. Facility & Equipment Maintenance: Performing basic facility maintenance and cleanup as needed, Maintaining irrigation and misting systems, Keeping work areas organized and clear of hazardsSee ETA 790/790A for a complete job description
