Robert Half Controller (Plant) in Alsip, Illinois

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Controller in the Manufacturing industry located in ALSIP, Illinois, United States. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing the accounting operations in a manufacturing plant, with a focus on cost accounting and inventory control. This role requires leadership experience and skills in process improvement, month-end close, general ledger, and journal entries.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate standards and regulatory requirements

• Maintain internal control safeguards for the receipt of revenue, costs, and both team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures

• Coordinate all audit activity

• Leverage skills in cost accounting and inventory control to ensure accurate financial reporting

• Consistently analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner

• Monitor the financial performance of the company by measuring and analyzing results, initiating corrective actions, and minimizing the impact of variances

• Utilize leadership experience to streamline and improve processes

• Implement and manage software systems and tools to provide critical financial and operational information

• Use Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting

• Ensure month-end and year-end close processes are completed accurately and on time. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the manufacturing industry

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Comprehensive knowledge and experience in Cost Accounting

• Strong understanding of Manufacturing Cost Accounting

• Familiarity with General Ledger management

• Experience in Journal Entries preparation and management

• Proven track record in Process Improvement initiatives

• Experience in managing Month End Close procedures

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred

• CPA or CMA certification is considered a plus

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

• High attention to detail and accuracy

• Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience overseeing a team.
