McDermott Senior Director Fabrication Operations in Altamira, Mexico
The Senior Director Fabrication Operations executes fabrication or operations strategy to achieve key business objectives. The Senior Director of Fabrication Operations’ work is guided by company strategy and fabrication business objectives and directly impacts business results. The Senior Director of Fabrication Operations evaluates key business challenges and directs the development of new and innovative solutions. This role requires the application of in-depth knowledge of fabrication, business, and commercial expertise to differentiate McDermott from the competition.
Review production schedules, engineering specifications, process flows, and other information to understand methods that are applied and activities that take place in global Fabrication yards
Determine the best process for fabrication and delivery to provide maximum efficiency
Develop control systems to make financial planning and cost analysis more efficient for the Fabrication functions.
Enact quality control procedures to resolve production problems or minimize costs
Design control systems to coordinate activities and production planning to ensure that products meet the quality standard
Confer with clients about product specifications, vendors about purchases, management personnel about manufacturing capabilities, and staff about the status of projects
Evaluate systems needs both technically and economically by location to provide optimum solutions
Gather Data and Analytics through various sources and develop and maintain a KPI database for Fabrication Function
Provide regular status reports to Global Fabrication Management as required
Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering preferred. Mechanical, Electrical, and Manufacturing engineering degrees will be considered
15 years of relevant industry experience in oil and gas, manufacturing, fabrication, system, and process optimization
Strong leadership, team management, and time management abilities with a focus on achieving results while maintaining a positive work environment
Exceptional problem-solving skills, showing an aptitude for analyzing complex situations and making strategic decisions
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and collaborate with internal teams, clients, and vendors
Computer literate in Microsoft programs: Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel, Project
Self-motivated, self-reliant, and able to operate independently, while exercising good independent judgment and decision-making
Ability to deliver results and manage a multi-regional and multi-disciplinary team of individuals
Strong listening and communication skills (written and verbal) required
Advanced knowledge in mathematics for analysis, design, and troubleshooting
