TEKsystems Data Center Technician in Appleton, Wisconsin
Description:
TEKsystems is actively looking to hire a Data Center tech to join a large client in Appleton WI!
This will be a long term contract, likely a year or more. Some weeks will be full time, other may be part time.
The ideal candidate will be a tenured Data Center technical and/or low voltage technician that is comfortable working in a data center.
Day to day includes:
-Racking, Stacking and Cable Management (CAT-6a, CAT-6 and fiber optics)
-Working with external vendors to manage the equipment intake process, and documenting in Excel and other DataCenter Management (DCM) Software tools.
-Working with Carriers as it related to carrier installation and troubleshooting issues.
Upcoming projects –
-Major construction is set to begin on in Appleton Q1 or Q2 of 2025. They have a lot of prep work to do in order to clean up the datacenter, and modernize it for all of the new equipment and fiber connections.
-Decommissioning a Minnesota based DR site in preparation for a move to CoLo
