Summary: We are looking for a skilled Painter to paint the interior and exterior of structures, buildings, and other surfaces.
Responsibilities: Preparing walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, using sandpaper, removing old paint coating Performs building exterior and interior caulking, finish repair, mud and tape, and texturing tasks. Operates equipment such as airless spray equipment, scaffolding, and motorized lifts. Uses mechanized high-reach equipment to renew caulking on exterior building panel seams, windows, and doors. Applies paints, sealers, varnishes, and solvents to exterior and interior building surfaces such as plaster, sheetrock, concrete, and wood. Performs special refinishing tasks including wood surface preparation, staining, and sealing. Performs minor plaster repair, blending newly renovated wall surfaces with existing plaster. Make on-site preparations such as building scaffolding, covering fixtures Surveys building painting project sites to estimate time and material quantities required; selects appropriate surface coatings. Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices. Take and adhere to all health and safety precautions Cleans up worksite debris.
Painter Qualifications/Skills: Knowledge of painting material and how to select, mix and apply them Solid knowledge of commercial and/or construction painting techniques Aptitude in using appropriate tools (brushes, caulking guns etc.) Good basic math skills Capable of receiving and following instructions and communicating with co-workers Able to read and adhere to labels, safety warnings, and guidelines Attentive to detail and always alert to ensure safety Manual dexterity with excellent balance to work on scaffolding, scissor lifts, ladders, etc. (must not be afraid of heights) Conscientious with great attention to detail
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements: High school diploma or GED Previous painting experience preferred Proficiency with painting tools and equipment a plus Ability to safely operate various vehicles and equipment Understands MSDS/SDS before using cleaning solutions; follows good safety practices Excellent attendance
