Role Overview:The production/plant manager ensures contract requirements and quality standards are maintained throughout production and our processes; ensuring that operators are performing checks and documenting; ensures production support for the customer needs of Sequel Wire and Cable projects and products; manages and plans training of operators, and is; responsible for the adherence to - flow and continuous improvement of our manufacturing utilizing safe, cost effective and efficient methods of our 24/7 plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise all production personnel.
  • Lead/model a discipline-focused approach to production; well-oiled machine; each day starts on time; understand and drive a quality approach; monitor and lead a daily rhythm and flow that deliverers predictability.
  • Lead team members and ensure that they are equipped to be successful.
  • As challenges arise, ensure permanent and proactive solutions are in place in a timely manner.
  • Oversee production operations with a focus on accountability of due/delivery date adherence (i.e., establishing a sense of urgency on the manufacturing floor).
  • Participate as a proactive member of the leadership team.
  • Establish and build relationships with key stakeholders - Coordinate with other managers in the overall successful delivery ofprojects and programs.
  • Establish baseline metrics for production: Increase production efficiency; Correlate efficiency to key performanceindicators focused on customer quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Develop, measure, train, and maintain a culture of continuous improvement in operations.
  • Recruit new operators as needed.
  • Demonstrate standards and expectations across all areas of manufacturing.
  • Review, create, and refine processes to improve production performance working with process engineers.
  • Identify, collaborate, and integrate processes with other departments to drive overall success.
  • Provide critical input for effective training programs to ensure properly skilled operators are readily available to accommodate Sequel Wire and Cable continued growth.
  • Supports operators in utilizing ERP data.
  • Support COO in establishing an effective strategic plan of the operational capability and capacity with a focus on supporting Sequel Wire and Cable customers.
  • Troubleshoot issues that arise.
  • Ensure that employees comply with applicable safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure paperwork is completed and signed correctly.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Able to read, understand, and communicate with engineering drawings, schematics, documentation, etc.
  • Understanding and experience with ISO 9001 and IPC standards.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Microsoft Office 365 applications and ERP systems.
  • Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production operations and machinery.

Education, Experience, and Other Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Management, or related field strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years in an operations/production/plant manager role with supervisory experience.
  • A strong understanding of manufacturing a product with specifications and quality controls.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, being highly proficient in Excel.
  • Strong acumen to operations of a production facility, leadership and producing a high-quality product.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Results driven: Focused on individual and team success by being accountable to deadlines, customer needs and collaboratively working together to achieve these goals.
  • Wire and cable industry experience strongly desired.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at a time.
  • Must be able to traverse the production facility.
