JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The Swine Research Production Manager is responsible for maintaining the production herd at the Swine Research and Teaching Center (SRTC) and is the subject matter expert for agriculture-based swine projects. The SRTC maintains approximately 1,500 animals, 300 newborn piglets each month, over 10 unique genetic lines of pigs, and is the source of all the animals for the swine research & teaching at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. This is a working manager position with supervisory duties that supports a wide array of swine experimental projects. The primary goal of this position is to establish methods, refine procedures, and lead a team in the day-to-day operations to ensure the breeding & growing herds operate at high production performances of reproductive, health, and record keeping.
