Position: Crane Operator
Location: Athens, AL
About the Role:
We are seeking a Crane Operator to join our team, specializing in the transportation of steel coils. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating overhead cranes to lift, move, and position steel coils in our facility, ensuring efficient and accurate handling in accordance with safety standards and operational procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate overhead cranes to transport steel coils to designated areas within the facility.
Perform pre-operational inspections of cranes and lifting equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety.
Secure steel coils with appropriate rigging techniques to prevent damage during transport.
Coordinate with production and logistics teams to facilitate timely movement of materials.
Monitor and control crane movements, making precise adjustments to align steel coils accurately.
Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Maintain accurate records of material movements and crane operations.
Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the supervisor promptly.
Participate in safety training and drills to stay updated on best practices and emergency procedures.
Assist with general maintenance and cleaning of cranes and surrounding work areas.
