Pilgrim's FEED MILL LABORER IN ATHENS GA in Athens, Georgia
The Feed Mill Utility Laborer is responsible for assisting manufacturing feed in accordance with standard operating procedures established at the feed mill. The Feed Mill Utility Laborer will be responsible for aiding in operating the computer automation systems required to receive ingredients, grind grains, mix and pellet feed. The Feed Mill Utility Laborer will assist in operat ing the processing equipment according to established standard operating procedures. In addition to feed manufacturing the utility labore r will perform housekeeping activities, quality checks on feed and ingredients, maintenance and repair of equipment. The Feed Mill housekeeping includes day-to-day housekeeping tasks, including the removal of dust and ingredient spillage from ledges, floors, equipment and other surfaces. The Feed Mill Utility Laborer is responsible for compliance with all company policies, Local, State and Federal policies, laws and regulations .
Unloading all incoming trucks, railcars, and some bag ingredient trucks
Keep back dock area clean and other areas if needed
Daily inventory of ingredient bins
Dumping bag ingredients into micro bins as needed
Will be required to use a sledge hammer
Must be able to climb stairs, walk on rough ground and concrete
Must not be afraid of heights
Must be able to squat, bend, kneel and reach
Will be exposed to varying temperatures and humidity
Must obey all USDA, HACCP and PLANT rules and regulations including safety.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Physical dem ands: Standing, walking, lifting , heights
Dependability a must
Able to bend and lift objects
Able to read English
Take responsibility for work area and equipment
Forklift
Must be flexibl e & able to work other shifts including weekends and holidays ( if needed)
Ability to work in team environment
Must be able to pass drug, alcohol and basic screening
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must have some computer skills
