Smyth County Machine 2nd shift CNC Brake Press Operator in Atkins, Virginia
Requirements:
Performs all duties instructed with minimum supervision. Must have good math skills and blueprint reading experience. Excellent work ethic and dependable transportation required; must be able to pass pre-employment and random drug screens.
Summary:
Set up and operate CNC Brake Press to fabricate metal parts to the drawing and print specifications required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Determines dimensions and tolerances of finished part, and setup requirements, from blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample piece.
Selects, aligns, and secures bend tooling and fixturing attachments, accessories, and materials as required.
Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, and depth and angle of bending, or enters commands to input or edit computerized machine control media.
Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions of machine controls or control media as required.
Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to specifications.
Sets up and/or operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
Fits and assembles parts into complete assembly, if required.
Verifies dimensions and alignment of assembly, if required.
Confers with production personnel and programmers or others to resolve machining or assembly problems, if required.
Performs duties in accordance with required procedures.
Education/Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); with two to five years job related experience.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Physical Demands:
Standing for extended periods and lifting of a minimum of 50 lb. are required for this job.
