Elevance Health Associate Relations Team Lead in ATLANTA, Georgia

Associate Relations Team Lead

Location: Elevance Health supports a hybrid workplace model (virtual and in-office) with PulsePoint sites used for collaboration, community, and connection. This includes remote work and 1-2 days in office per week. Preferred locations are Indianapolis, IN and Atlanta, GA.

The Associate Relations Team Lead is responsible for identifying opportunities for improvement, developing, and implementing best practice and continuous improvement initiatives for the Associate Relations department. This role streamlines department procedures, drives strategic initiatives/goals, handles/influences sensitive issues, and guides decision-making processes by establishing trusted relationships at all organizational levels.

How You Will Make an Impact:

  • Proactively identifies opportunities for improvement; researches, develops, and implements related best practices; develops metrics to track performance and goal achievement; serves as internal consultant relative to continuous improvement initiatives; identifies and develops plans to improve performance to be incorporated enterprise wide.

  • Serves as point of contact and mentor for AR Consultant/Sr. team members, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to enhance skills and drive performance.

  • Cultivates a culture of openness and inclusivity through effective strategies and clear communication.

  • Manages complex and sensitive AR issues, such as conflicts, and disciplinary actions.

  • Provides expert guidance and coaching to managers on associate relations matters to ensure fair and consistent treatment of all associates.

  • Investigates/oversees sensitive and complex complaints or concerns, ensuring the issues are resolved efficiently and documented appropriately.

  • Develops and implements AR processes, procedures, documentation, and strategies that foster a positive workplace.

  • Develops and manages training, including assisting with onboarding new hires, coordinating AR manager training and other training, as necessary.

  • Ensures compliance with state and federal laws, as well as company policies.

  • Conducts quality audits and regularly provides insightful feedback to AR Managers for improved coaching and team management.

  • Analyzes and monitors qualitative and quantitative AR department data/key metrics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement in associate behavior and engagement.

  • Performs other duties or tasks as needed or assigned, including addressing critical situations, unplanned activities, projects, and continuous improvement efforts.

  • Travels to worksite and other locations as necessary.

Minimum Requirements

  • Requires a BA/BS in a related field and minimum of 8 years process improvement experience with planning, project management, business analysis, and leadership role experience, including minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Process Improvement Manager level; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:

  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred.

  • Proven ability to manage, guide, and lead a team towards successful outcomes.

  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.

  • Knowledgeable of federal and state employment laws and other compliance regulations.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to make sense of data and use it to understand trends, tell the story and recommended actions.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong presentation skills.

  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization, including the C-Suite.

  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information professionally and with integrity.
