Instrumentation Technician
Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Instrumentation Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, repairs, improvements, and modifications to process instrumentation/controls on production and qualified utility equipment and systems. This role involves installing, configuring, maintaining, and repairing complex computer systems, including PLCs and Distributive control systems, as well as calibrating and maintaining process measuring and control instruments.
Responsibilities
Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, improvements, and modifications to process instrumentation/controls on production and qualified utility equipment and systems.
Install, configure, maintain, and repair complex computer systems, including PLCs and Distributive control systems.
Configure, calibrate, maintain, and repair process measuring and control instruments.
Stay current with training regarding maintenance of instrumentation equipment and systems in compliance with company standards, procedures, and government regulations.
Serve as maintenance advisor to projects, providing input on equipment design, parts and material selection, documentation, testing, problem-solving, maintenance requirements, project scope, and follow-up.
Assess priorities and make decisions related to troubleshooting, diagnostics, assembly, repair, and proactive maintenance of equipment and systems in a cost-effective manner.
Read and understand drawings/blueprints for the installation/repair of new and existing equipment.
Use test/calibration instruments and computers for troubleshooting and equipment diagnostics.
Assist with the operation and maintenance of qualified utilities.
Essential Skills
5-8 years of process instrumentation experience.
Technical diploma or certification in a related field.
Experience in pharmaceutical, FDA, or GMP regulated environments.
Proficiency in SAP and PLC systems.
Journeyman Certificate in Instrumentation or Electrical with 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or Technical/Vocational School diploma with 5-8 years of field instrumentation work experience.
Solid understanding of GMP manufacturing processes, equipment, and facilities.
Good communication and organizational skills.
Ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
Ability to analyze problems and provide support in determining appropriate corrective and preventative actions.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Technical proficiency in relevant areas.
Ability to produce effective project reports and presentations.
Capability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously and prioritize own work.
Flexibility and responsiveness to changes.
Work Environment
The shift is Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day, starting between 7am-8am. The position requires working near moving mechanical parts and high surface temperatures, and the use of appropriate PPE is required.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $45.00/hr.
