Position Summary
This is a Per Diem- PRN Patient Account Rep position that will provide customer service support to the Revenue Cycle area and the Patient Account team. This includes phone and written correspondence while advancing skills in the following area.
Payment Poster
Posts all actions related to patients accounts to the computer system.
Prepares refunds for review
Ensures daily batch totals reconcile to deposit totals
Charge Entry
Researches all information present to complete billing process
Ensures all required data elements are entered into billing system
Processes and distributes copies of billings according to organization policies and procedures.
Insurance Follow Up
Interfaces with patients, physicians, and others regarding professional billing operations and funds.
Contacts insurance carriers to resolve open accounts receivables.
Resolves third-party reimbursement discrepancies; responds to patient questions about billing procedures and billed activities; and handles correspondence related to patient accounts.
Ensures proper and timely processing of claims and payments to payers.
Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION :
High School Diploma or General Education Degree ( GED ) required.
EXPERIENCE :
A minimum of one year of experience in a physician billing Revenue Cycle or Central Business Office required.
Knowledge of third-party insurance in regards to plan types: HMO , PPO , POS , and Indemnity.
Knowledge of the Medicare and Medicaid Programs ( CMS ) particularly as it relates to CPT procedures and ICD -9/ ICD -10 diagnostic coding. Thorough knowledge of Medicare Fraud and Abuse regulations.
Ability to counsel patients financially regarding outstanding charges and effectively resolve problems via the highest customer service skills and etiquette.
Functional knowledge and understanding of the mechanisms of Electronic Medical Records ( EHR ) and Physician Billing Systems (PB).
Possess full knowledge of HIPAA regulations.

It is MSM’s Immunization policy that all Prospective Employees are required to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID -19 prior to commencement of employment.
