Job Summary As the Intralogistics Solutions Project Manager, your role is pivotal in promoting Carolina Handling both internally and externally, collaborating closely with Sales and Operations teams. You will be tasked with managing activities and resources to support projects that may influence multiple departments, systems, or workflows. Your responsibilities include coordinating straightforward projects independently or seeking assistance from Department Managers for components of large-scale projects. Additionally, you will assist Department Managers and technical staff with day-to-day project administration, ensuring smooth execution and timely completion. Furthermore, you will play a crucial role in investigating and selecting new suppliers as necessary to support the continued growth of installation capabilities at Carolina Handling. By identifying and partnering with reliable suppliers, you will contribute to enhancing the company's capabilities and meeting customer demands effectively.

Responsibilities

· Project Planning and Execution: Plans, executes, and completes material handling equipment projects, overseeing all aspects including structures, conveyors, machinery, controls, and software.

o Schedule, facilitate, and participate in project handoff meetings with Sales, Application Engineers, associates, and vendors.

o Act as the central point of contact for customer projects, quarterbacking all areas including planning, coordination, participation, documentation, and meeting chairing.

· Project Coordination and Liaison: Liaise with other departments and external sources to address project issues, coordinate implementation schedules, work/change orders, and ensure appropriate personnel for timely project completion.

o Schedule and lead Carolina Handling associates and vendor personnel throughout the project lifecycle, from initial site-related activities to final project management, installation, commissioning, and customer sign-off.

· Documentation and Control: Create and maintain documented project plans and schedules, along with comprehensive records including change logs, action items, and issues and risk monitoring logs.

o Understand and perform document control functions in accordance with on-site policies and procedures.

· Problem-solving and Solution Recommendation: Research and recommend solutions to project administration issues, including conflicts, interferences, and errors/omissions.

o Provide verbal and written updates on projects, covering in-scope deliverables, project issues, and risks.

· Professional Development and Industry Knowledge: Attend workshops, trade shows, and seminars to stay updated on changes in the industry.

o Stay proficient with basic pricing and bill of materials preparation for quoting purposes.

· Perform any other duties as assigned or required.

Requirements

· Bachelor's degree with emphasis in Business, Finance, Engineering, or related field OR 5 years of automation experience.

· 2+ years of automation project management experience.

· Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

· Prior experience managing people or processes.

· Experience in project management, product development lifecycle, or process management.

· Experience managing automation projects that include (but are not limited to): automated guided vehicles, automated storage and retrieval systems, conveyor systems, warehouse management software, etc.

· Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Exhibit resourcefulness and sound judgment in resolving routine problems related to assigned projects.

· Possess good organizational skills and a high level of self-structure to produce accurate work with strong attention to detail.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective communication with team members and stakeholders.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office products including MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

· Familiarity with Visio or other related flow diagram software is preferred.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

This position is classified as medium work, involving the operation of motor vehicles and heavy equipment, as well as movement to complete tasks or transition between work sites. Manual dexterity is necessary for equipment operation, computer use, writing, and handling materials. Clear articulation and voice control are essential for effective communication with both internal and external customers via telephone. Specific vision abilities essential for this role include close vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

This role entails working in a dynamic environment, encompassing both office-based tasks and visits to customer sites, involving regular interaction with internal and external customers. Travel to customer locations for sales calls and presentations is a requirement, potentially exposing the individual to diverse environments, including the risk of encountering harmful or corrosive chemicals if proper safety protocols are not followed. Additionally, the role often involves exposure to various outdoor weather conditions. The individual in this position must adeptly manage strict deadlines, shifting priorities, and a high volume of information flow while consistently upholding professionalism. Standard office equipment such as laptops and smartphones are routinely utilized, and noise levels typically range from moderate to high.

Travel and Schedule Requirements: 50% travel to customer sites is required; occasional overnight travel may be required based on the location and scope of the project, for meetings and/or conferences. Ability to work weekends and evenings as required, particularly during scheduled project go-live events.
