Description

Emory University School of Law seeks several seasonal recruiters to assist the school with forming the Emory Law class of 2028. This position requires extensive travel, including travel by car and air, as well as frequently overnight stays and weekend hours. The law school will cover all work-related travel expenses. This seasonal position begins in August and finishes no later than December 13, 2024.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Recruits students by traveling to high schools and college recruitment fairs.

  • Reviews, analyzes, and rates applications of students applying for admission.

  • Conducts information sessions for visiting students and parents, and may conduct campus tours.

  • Assists in coordinating alumni volunteer activities.

  • May review and edit financial aid forms.

  • Composes correspondence, and designs and generates reports.

  • Maintains communication via telephone, correspondence, and/or electronic mail with prospective students through all stages of the recruitment and admission process.

  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:

  • Travel extensively to represent Emory Law at local, regional, and national law school fairs and recruiting events.

  • Contact and meet with pre-law advisors.

  • Make presentations to individuals and/or groups.

  • Produce status reports on recruiting efforts.

  • Responsible for responding to any communication from students encountered at recruitment events and other inquiries from prospective students as directed by the Office of Admissions staff.

  • Occasionally assist with on-campus recruitment events, lead campus tours, and help with other administrative tasks as assigned.

  • Respond to phone or email inquiries and provide general support as needed, and

  • perform other duties as assigned.

  • As the position requires travelling by car and air, candidates must possess a valid driver’s license and meet all requirements to fly via national carrier.

MINIMUM QUALFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid Driver License issued by a US State or Territory.

  • 2024 Juris Doctor degree from Emory University School of Law with a confirmed job placement beginning on or after December 1, 2024. Ideally, Seasonal Admissions Advisors can share personal Emory Law experiences with prospective students to help us find outstanding students.

  • Outstanding oral communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

  • Experience in marketing/sales is helpful.

  • Comfort with on-going domestic travel.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs.
