IRIS Consulting Corporation Sr. Systems Administrator in Atlanta, Georgia
A Systems Administrator is responsible for the effective & efficient provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of server systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. In addition, this covers the adoption of processes and procedures guarantying the implementation of system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures that adheres with technology direction and policies. '-Performs daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups. -Performs regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions. -Performs daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary. -Performs regular file archival and purge as necessary. -Creates, changes, and deletes user accounts & groups per request. -Grants and removes access to server and related resources. -Investigates and troubleshoots minor issues. -Provides Level 2 support per request from end users. -Applies OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configures/adds new services as necessary. -Upgrades and configures system software per project and/or operational needs. -Maintains operational, config· IT Governance of all site implementations, inventories, infrastructure planning, escorting, preventative maintenances and break/fix services for data center critical infrastructure, IT certification labs, and remote communication room critical environment equipment
· IT support of IT Labs to align our client application and engineering teams with workstations, hardware and access to test their application
· Remote coordination in partnership with professional services responsible for critical infrastructure maintenance and break-fix activities at remote communication rooms
· Management, operation, maintenance, and monitoring of all critical facilities infrastructure for data center and remote communication room equipment
· Development of data center and remote communication room standards for space, power, cooling, and physical layer IT infrastructure
· Support IT Facilities Campus Fiber Ring to maintain the integrity and service continuity of the Atlanta Airport and Campus Facilities underground fiber ring.
· Recommending and implementing departmental policy, guidelines, standards, and procedures.
· Assures compliance with all governing corporate standards and guidelines.
· Project management of data center and remote communication room standards capital improvements, upgrades, and enhancements
· Selection of IT and Critical Facilities services, ensuring accurate documentation, securing best prices for products and services, and ensuring that vendors fulfill their contractual obligationuration, or other procedures. -Maintains data center environmental and monitoring equipment. -Prepares basic reports and presentations as requested or necessary within IT team
-Has Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA) or UNIX, Linux equivalent certification. '-Engineers SA-related solutions for various minor projects and operational needs. -Contributes to and maintains system standards. -Researches and recommends innovative, and where possible, automated approaches for sys admin tasks. -Provides Level 3 support per request from end users. -Investigates and troubleshoots complex issues. -Repairs/recovers from hardware and software failures; coordinates and communicates with impacted end users. -Performs periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning. -Performs ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configures CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required. -Prepares reports and presentations as requested or necessary within IT & minor customers. -At least a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) and certified in at least one of the following technologies: Exchange, OCS, Blackberry, Iron Port, Configuration Manager, ISA/Proxy, Storage (Legato, IPStor & SAN), NetGil/Citrix, SharePoint 2007, Anti-Virus, F5, Siteminder, VMware, etc. '-Engineers SA-related solutions for various complex project and operational needs. -Leads teams to provide advanced design, architecture and diagnostic support. -Prepares reports /presentations as requested or necessary within IT and internal/external customers. -Ensures proper capacity planning is in place. -Ensures the effective and efficient system setup and operation. -Ensures teams adhere to Chevron technology direction and policies. -Drives the cultivation of OE culture within the team. Defines end-to-end processes in support of OE. -ITIL Certified for Support Services.

· Data Center infrastructure project build-outs and planning for rack, stack, and cabling of IT hardware.
· IT hardware and network cabling adds, moves, changes, and retirements.
· Provide proactive and break fix support for alarm/ticket remediation related to facilities, remote communication rooms, lab, and data center equipment.
· Adhere to data center design standards for space, power, cooling, and physical layer IT infrastructure.
· Organize projects with the goal to complete on schedule and within budget.
· Maintain documents, reports, and asset discrepancy remediation.
· Strict adherence to the Change Management window 10PM – 6AM.
· Remote Coordination of FTO Critical Infrastructure Maintenance and Break-Fix activities.
· Provide remote installation, configuration and operational support.
· Submit equipment orders for inventory, campus & FTO projects.
· Support CRE projects that relate to RCR Design/Build as IT Facilities Representatives.
· Balances multiple priorities within established time constraints
· Flexibility to support an operation with varying shifts, extended hours, and on-call requirements
· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Bachelor’s Degree or 2 plus years of relevant experience
· Trade School Graduate
· IT Support Experience (At least 2 years) within a high availability data center operating environment, day-to-day operational requirements, and the operation of production systems and equipment
