Robert Half Staff Accountant in Atlanta, Georgia

Description We are inviting applications for the role of Staff Accountant in our Investment Banking sector, located in New York, New York. This role is pivotal in managing the entire cycle of accounting, including managing, reconciling, and analyzing various accounts, as well as preparing financial statements. This position offers a contract to hire employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and complete full-cycle accounting tasks including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger postings, and financial statement preparation.

• Assist in the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP.

• Oversee, manage, and maintain prompt and accurate financial transactions in Microsoft Dynamics 365.

• Utilize PowerBI for generating insightful financial reports and data visualizations.

• Prepare detailed journal entries and account analyses.

• Assist with tax compliance, audit, and other accounting projects as needed.

• Improve financial status by analyzing results, monitoring variances, identifying trends, and recommending actions to management.

• Utilize skills in Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Month End Close, NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, SAP. Requirements • Must have a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably within the investment banking industry.

• Proficiency in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) management.

• Demonstrated experience in bank reconciliations.

• Experience with general ledger maintenance and journal entries.

• Familiarity with the month-end close process.

• Proficiency in accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP.

• Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and manage ambiguity.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

• Must be eligible to work in the specified location.
