Control Panels USA Fabrication Shop Manager in Austin, Texas

The Fabrication Shop Manager will lead a team of Fabrication Technicians in a fast-paced and growing manufacturing environment building panel box units, and relay racks while overseeing quality control.  The Fabrication Shop Manager will cultivate a team focused on collaboration, quality, accountability, safety, and reliability.

    Our regular work schedule is M-F 8AM-4:30PM.

    Duties & Responsibilities

  • Have strong leadership qualities and have the ability to teach, guide, implement and develop team.

  • Lead the team that Fabricates control panels and enclosures from prints/schematics.

  • Maintain red line drawing mark-ups of changes required during fabrication.

  • Communicate red-line changes to Engineers or Team Leader for revision before completion.

  • Lead the assigned projects including assembly of parts and components, position, align, and fasten units to assemblies, subassemblies, or frames using hand and power tools.

  • Lead a team of Fabrication Technicians to optimize performance while coaching, training, and developing individuals within the team.

  • Develops, modifies, and implements processes and procedures to drive a culture focused on safety, quality, and time and budget delivery.

  • Provides direction and prioritization to the team through planning, scheduling, design review, and quality control.

  • Responsible for hiring, developing, evaluating, time off, and disciplining by company policies.

  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to fulfill customer needs and resolve customer issues.

  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment.

  • Ensures all production equipment and tools are safely utilized and maintained.

  • Investigate issues and develop solutions; prepare reports; make recommendations to management.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Approachable and open to constructive feedback

  • Excellent problem-solving and thinking outside the box.

  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.

  • Computer literate

  • Disciplined and detail-oriented.

  • Mechanical knowledge and mindset.

  • Prior supervisory experience.

    Experience:

  • 3+ years managing or supervising a fabrication department.

  • Ability to read and understand schematics/blueprints, and work instructions.

  • 3+ years of knowledge of programming CNC and robotic equipment.
