Splunk Software Engineer - Product Packaging (US Remote Available) in AZ, United States

Role Summary

As a Software Engineer, you'll be part of Splunk's core cloud platform and join our Product Packaging team which is responsible for building solutions to provide reliable and accurate recommendations for sizing and deployments to Splunk cloud customers. You will design and develop new capabilities and have a large impact in shaping the team, technology and operational excellence. You will be immersed in both microservices and core platforms as well as have exposure to the full portfolio of technology areas.

You have a solid foundation in distributed computing, cloud native software architecture and development. Initiative, passion and commitment is your soft currency. What you'll get to do

  • Own and be accountable for the delivery of multiple features for our services, toolings and rules policies, including the design, implementation and quality. You will work with a modern tech stack, including Go, OPA, and Kubernetes, in a multi-cloud, multi-region distributed computing environment.

  • Scale our backend systems in a performant, secure, and reliable way.

  • Partner with leaders from architecture, eng management, and product management on project requirements, designs, and development plans.

  • Collaborate with fast paced multi-functional teams to solve problems and implement new solutions.

  • Participate in on-call rotation of the team and you will get opportunities to drive resolution on real customer incidents.

Must-have Qualifications

  • 5+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science; or 4+ years and a Master; or equivalent practical experience

  • Proficiency level experience building cloud microservices and distributed systems in Go (preferred) or other programming languages.

  • Familiarity and prior experience working with Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, Terraform and AWS/GCP/Azure.

  • Experience in the implementation of complex technical architectures with a team.

Base Pay Range

SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area

Base Pay Range: $146,400.00 - 201,300.00 per year

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts

Base Pay Range: $131,760.00 - 181,170.00 per year

All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.

Base Pay Range: $117,120.00 - 161,040.00 per year

Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
