Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and manage the technology transfer team, including engineers, technicians, and support staff.

  • Develop and implement detailed project plans for transferring HAMR technology to manufacturing.

  • Coordinate with R&D, engineering, and manufacturing teams to ensure alignment and effective communication.

  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure timely delivery.

  • Oversee the transfer of HAMR technology processes, equipment, and materials from the development stage to production lines.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and optimize manufacturing processes.

  • Ensure the successful scaling of technology, maintaining performance standards and quality benchmarks.

  • Establish and maintain quality control systems to ensure the reliability and performance of HAMR products.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.

  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency.

  • Manage budgets, resources, and timelines effectively to ensure project success.

  • Oversee the procurement and installation of necessary equipment and materials.

  • Develop and manage training programs for manufacturing personnel on new HAMR technology and processes.

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of technology transfer processes, protocols, and outcomes.

  • Prepare and present regular progress reports to senior management and stakeholders.

  • Ensure that all intellectual property and proprietary technology are protected during the transfer process.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field. A Master’s or Ph.D. is preferred.

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in technology transfer, manufacturing engineering, or a related role within the data storage or semiconductor industry.

  • Proven experience in managing the transition of advanced technologies from development to high-volume manufacturing.

PREFERRED:

  • Expertise in process development, optimization, and troubleshooting. Knowledge of process control and improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma.

  • Experience in maintenance strategies, reliability engineering, and equipment lifecycle management to ensure manufacturing equipment operates at peak efficiency.

  • Familiarity with AI and machine learning applications in manufacturing, such as predictive maintenance, process optimization, and quality control.

  • Experience with active alignment technologies and processes, particularly in the context of optical or magnetic components.

  • Proficiency in laser soldering techniques, including setup, operation, and optimization for precision manufacturing applications.

  • Experience with advanced manufacturing technologies and processes, such as laser soldering, advance packaging, or precision machining.

  • Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS) and statistical process control (SPC).

  • Experience in managing relationships with suppliers and equipment vendors.

SKILLS:

  • Advanced skills in process development, troubleshooting, and optimization.

  • Proficiency in using and managing high-precision equipment and technologies related to HAMR and manufacturing.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on data analysis and decision-making.

  • Capability to interpret and utilize data for process improvements and quality control.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English for reporting, documentation, and team interaction.

  • Ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Proven ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams.

  • Effective conflict resolution and negotiation skills.

  • Expertise in managing multiple projects simultaneously with a focus on deadlines and deliverables.
