Engineer III - Test Equipment Location: Akron, OH, United States Job Family : Engineering Job Type : Regular Posted : Mar 4, 2025 Job ID: 55193 Back to Search Results Job Description Apply Now > Save Job Job Saved The Test Equipment Engineer 3 will be responsible for concept development, system level design and analysis, hardware and software system integration, system testing and evaluation, preparation of engineering test procedures, selection of and coordination with subcontractors and vendors, and support of manufacturing by providing solutions to technical problems. The incumbent also supplies inputs for producing equipment technical manuals, writes technical sections of proposals, prepares cost estimates, and prepares contractual statements of work. The incumbent performs a variety of engineering work crossing multiple technical boundaries (such as electrical, software, optical, mechanical). A thorough knowledge of the company's engineering design practices and procedures is required. The incumbent will be involved in providing technical assistance during customer negotiations, briefings, design reviews, and demonstrations. Within the company, the incumbent will interface on a regular basis with other engineers and engineering managers in order to gain concurrence with a design, process, and development plan or test approach. Depending on the assignment, high levels of contact will also be required. Essential Functions: * Complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts in the field of Electrical Engineering, more specifically Automated Test Equipment to support production manufacturing and test. * Demonstrates domain knowledge with high level understanding of design processes and procedures with ability to train others * Applies knowledge and experience to develop/enhance designs, processes, and tools * Creates strong network with other senior professionals internally and externally * Works under general direction and within established processes / procedures, as well as driving improvements to these processes * Has latitude in technical decisions and approaches, but seeks out specialist guidance for complex issues * Advanced oral and communication skills * Internal/external presentations should show more polish * Communication indicates knowledge of subject matter, particularly in customer/supplier interaction * Prepares clear, technically accurate and documented design explanation * Presentations to customers are still reviewed by others * Communicates in a positive, calm, and professional manner * Understands commercially sensitive information, including how, when, and with whom to share it * Acting as a lead, provides significant expertise in designing, developing, testing, maintaining, and improving complex components, control systems, and products. Directly impacts all aspects of safety, quality, delivery, cost, and innovation Qualifications: * Bachelor degree required, preferably in Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Aerospace Engineering. Minimum of 5 years' experience * Knowledge of these software applications a plus: o Altium, Jira, DOORS, Matlab, LTSpice, pSPICE * Must have a complete understanding of National Instruments Labview platform and have experience in developing Electronic test equipment using commercially available hardware and software, such as Microsoft Windows based systems. * Experience working in an electronics lab environment and troubleshooting hardware problems. * Experience and proficient at working across functions within the organization. * Experience in working in a multi-cultural / diverse organization - preferred * Willing to challenge the status quo - preferred * The responsibilities require the positi
