Summary THIS IS AN AIR FORCE NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a TITLE 32 SECURITY SPECIALIST (TRAINING SPECIALIST) (MI 110th SFS), Position Description Number NGD2161000 and is part of the MI 110 Airlift Wing, Michigan Air National Guard. Responsibilities THIS IS A TITLE 32 NATIONAL GUARD POISITION THAT REQUIRES MILITARY MEMBERSHIP This position is located in an Air National Guard Wing (ANG), Mission Support Group, Security Forces (SF) Squadron. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the subject matter expert in managing the SF Squadron program to include Air Expeditionary Force (AEF) deployments, formal training programs, and readiness and emergency management. Provides guidance and recommendations to the squadron commander on all aspects of SF programs for military personnel management, budget and management analysis, training, and training resources for drill-status personnel. 1. Reviews all operations, mobility, contingency, and exercise plans to ensure combat readiness for the SF Squadron. Analyzes exercise and contingency plans to determine required SF actions in support of mission requirements. 2. Responsible for proper security, classification, and storage of classified documents. Compiles information by identifying shortfalls and recommending corrective actions to Status of Resources and Training System (SORT) monitor on the status of SF personnel and training in all three classified reports 3. Oversees the coordination, review, and implementation of SF manning authorizations and military personnel assignments. Creates and implements the unit Force Management Plan for all Unit Type Code (UTC) teams as directed by MAJCOM. 4. Serves as the SF commander's key staff member responsible for the overall management of the unit-training program by overseeing the planning, organizing, directing, operating, and evaluating all unit training related items. Must make instant decisions and select a course of action under high stress conditions. 5. Serves as the subject matter expert and consultant to the unit commander on all matters pertaining to the availability and management of the SF training program to meet the needs of the organization and mission. Develops and coordinates the implementation of the SF training plan. 6. Develops, administers, and oversees the management of the unit's training programs to supervisors. Instructs supervisors and trainers on the concepts, scope, and objectives of training programs. 7. Directs the certification testing (CERTEST) program. Establishes and maintains the MAJCOM CERTEST data for SF CDC testing program. 8. Forecasts and submits Deployment For Training requirements in coordination with SF commander to ANG NGB/A7. Advises the SF commander regarding support requirements to accomplish contingency and deployment operations. 9. Conducts unit self-inspections and assessments. Reviews requirements, identifies deficiencies, develops recommendations, prepares reports, conducts briefings, and performs follow-up actions. 10. Plans, formulates, analyzes, and coordinates budget submissions. Provides unfunded requirements and FINPLAN recommendations. 11. Represents SF at wing training meetings. Provides input for base-wide operational, deployment, contingency, exercise planning, coordinating, and evaluating committees. 12. When needed or directed, performs and enforces the full range of security forces duties within the military installation. Incumbent may be exposed to the day-to-day dangers of SF associated with law enforcement and security duties. Military Grades: E1 - E7 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Specialized Experience time requirements of 1 year equivalent to at least next lower grade level. Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Knowledge of commonly used methods, procedures, regulations, and other guides that relate to training programs within the United States AF, ANG, and SF career field. Knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration, and resolution of program related issues and problems. Knowledge and understanding of AF, National Guard, and gaining command organizational structure, missions, and responsibilities. Education You must meet the following Education requirement to qualify for Substitution for Specialize Experience: GS-09 Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related AND 1 year equivalent to at least GS-7 Graduate Education: Education at the graduate level in an accredited college or university in the amounts shown in the table meets the requirements for positions at GS-7 through GS-11. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study. If that information cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours should be considered as satisfying the 1 year of full-time study requirement. Part-time graduate education is creditable in accordance with its relationship to a year of full-time study at the school attended.
