Robert Half Project Accounting Clerk in Baytown, Texas

Description We are offering an opportunity for an Accounting Clerk in Baytown, Texas. The role involves maintaining and processing records of purchases, payroll, and project supplies for various locations. This role is a contract employment opportunity, where you will be assisting the site management team with administrative and clerical duties within the telecom industry.

Responsibilities

• Requisition and purchase approved parts, project supplies, and consumables for office, shore, and vessels as needed

• Maintain records of requisitions, purchase orders, materials, and equipment received

• Manage weekly payroll, including filing and record-keeping of timesheets

• Prepare reports concerning new hires, equipment damage, and injury and illness

• Administer and maintain records of project safety documentation

• Assist in receiving new material in FIIX Systems upon arrival

• Support the Site Management team with administrative and clerical duties

• Use skills in Purchase Orders, Payroll, Approved Requisitions, and Order Management to ensure smooth operations. Requirements • Proficiency in handling Purchase Orders is required for this role.

• Demonstrated experience in Payroll management is essential.

• Ability to process Approved Requisitions effectively and accurately.

• Prior experience in Order Management is necessary.

• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Manual Payroll is required.

• A solid understanding of standard accounting principles and regulations.

• Excellent data entry skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

• Proficient in the use of accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions.

• A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.

• Professional certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) is a plus.
