Purpose/Introduction
This position has a strategic, long-term focus with emphasis on reciprocating compressor reliability improvement and turnaround support.
Responsibilities
Responsible for technical support of reciprocating compressors major overhaul projects
Creates reciprocating compressor reliability improvement with maintenance, operations, and projects involvement
Champions or participates in development and implementation of Asset Strategies (including FMEAs) for critical reciprocating compressors
Optimizes and maintains spare parts requirements for critical reciprocating compressors
Creates turnaround scope documents and strategy for reciprocating compressor overhauls
Participates in turnaround work execution with QA/QC, hold point witnessing, ensuring proper documentation is kept, and ensuring reliable return to service
Utilizes condition monitoring software to provide data driven technical input for upgrade projects, including rerates
Provides technical troubleshooting and repair support
Input recommendations into APM/Meridium and validate work order history
Provides SME assistance to corporate central engineering and other CPChem sites as needed and requested
Provides backfill support to area Rotating Equipment Reliability Analysts or Engineers as needed and available for vacation and training relief
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 10 years of experience with Reciprocating Compressors
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to serve a broad range of company employees, plant leaders, and engineering contractors
Experience in rotating equipment root cause failure analysis
Experience with using and analyzing data from condition monitoring tools for reciprocating compressors (ex: Prognost and/or Windrock)
Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks at the same time
Ability to prioritize work to align with goals
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
Experience with overhauls of hyper compressors
