Amazon Senior Product Manager, Supply Chain Optimization Technology - Fulfillment Optimization in Bellevue, Washington

Every time an Amazon Customer makes a purchase, the Fulfillment Optimization (FO) Team sets the expectation for when their items arrive. The delivery promises we make are key to acquiring and retaining Customers and influence the short and long term profitability of Amazon’s global retail business. We serve as the interface between Customer expectations and Amazon's industry leading fulfillment capabilities. We are part of Amazon's Supply Chain Optimization Technology (SCOT) Group that develops and manages systems which optimize inventory acquisition and placement so products are available for fast delivery. Our systems also optimize transportation and fulfillment plans to enable delivery options for our Customers.

The FO LRN Team is responsible for maximizing our fulfillment network's ability to use local/regional inventory to minimize order shipping distances to the customer. We are seeking an exemplary Sr Product Manager with the operational and analytical ability to understand complex systems and develop roadmaps and reporting that enable optimization of delivery promises for our millions of Customers worldwide. The ideal candidate is highly analytical and a critical thinker with advanced problem solving, data gathering and product management skills. They will enjoy working with world-class economists, research scientists, data engineers, software developers as well operations program managers to drive decisions across Amazon’s retail and operations teams. Successful members of this team are Customer obsessed, flexible, and collaborative team players who enjoying working across functions and organizations to solve problems and get results. They ask hard questions and work to build scalable solutions and influence decision making across retail and operations teams. They find timely answers buried in large data sets and act as the conduit between the technical side of SCOT FO and Operations. Key job responsibilities

  • Define strategy and build the road map for introducing new products, metrics and scaling existing ones

  • Own requirement gathering, product vision development, launch roadmap, prioritization and post-launch support

  • Work closely with stakeholders in Operations, Transportation and other SCOT teams to enhance product/metric features

  • Develop metrics and performance indicators to evaluate overall health of products

  • Work with the scientists, engineers and BIEs to develop the new features

  • Own local business reviews to understand trends, develop action plans, and impact of decisions driven by our product outputs

A day in the life

In this role, you will be given ownership of the highly critical and visible space of regional shipments and fulfillment distance; the autonomy to think strategically and make data driven decisions; and the ability to drive significant impact on Amazon's transportation and fulfillment center network at a global scale. You will interface with a wide range of teams around the world - Transportation, Operations and Network capacity planning, Finance, and technical experts in SCOT, to build advanced products and metrics. Besides developing and operating these products, you will also provide business support to extract data insights from these products as well as engage with Amazon senior leadership in shaping key decisions.

About the team

Our team within SCOT Fulfillment Optimization (FO) is responsible for maximizing our fulfillment network's ability to use local/regional inventory to minimize order shipping distances to the customer. We working closely with other SCOT teams, Operations, Transportation and Finance to drive initiatives both systemic as well as operational.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product

  • Experience managing technical products or online services

  • Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in using analytical tools, such as Tableau, Qlikview, QuickSight

  • Experience in building and driving adoption of new tools

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
