FinTech Payments team handles the processing and disbursement of vendor payments across Amazon 's global marketplaces, using cutting edge technologies and modernized payments architecture. We build and utilize services and applications using AWS and other cutting edge technologies while providing full visibility into the transactions using static and machine learning models. We partner with financial institutions and other Amazon teams to leverage the best in class features that the banks and finance technology companies have to offer. We delight our vendors by paying them when they want and how they want. We build software Applications that facilitate global financial transactions worth billions (USD) annually that rival the complexity and scope of dedicated payments fintech companies.

We are currently working on brand-new initiatives to deliver industry standard Payments product to process and disburse on-time payments to our vendors. We are building services from grounds up to deliver financial transaction accounting and reporting experience, and provide intuitive user experience by building Web Applications using Micro-front ends, for finance and business customers to operate their critical finance functions.

Key job responsibilities

  • In this position, you will play a major role in the architecture, design, implementation and deployment of large-scale and complex services.

  • You will push your design and architecture limits by inventing and simplifying complex problems.

  • You have strong verbal and written communication skills, are self-driven, and can deliver high quality results in a fast-paced environment.

  • You will work with Amazon engineering and business teams across the globe in planning, designing, executing and implementing new services.

  • Partner directly with other Sr. Software Development Engineers (SDEs), Principal Engineers, Technical Program Managers, Product Managers and Customers to understand features and continuously identify opportunities to build and deploy software solutions

  • Strong communication to describe product features and technical designs

  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations

  • Experience influencing software engineering best practices within your team

  • Experience mentoring junior software engineers to improve their skills

  • Able to work in a diverse team

  • Experience guidance from Sr. SDEs and Principal Engineers and opportunity to influence them for continuous growth.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 3+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • 3+ years of programming using a modern programming language such as Java, C++, or C#, including object-oriented design experience

  • Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
