Key Purpose of the Role
We are looking for a strong and experienced contributor who is self-motivated as well as is able to mentor/guide other team members. The individual will do technical architecture in the application as well as support enhancements to a complex business application.
Successful candidates need to possess deep hands on technical expertise in building large scale enterprise application and databases using technologies like Java, J2EE, Spring, Hibernate etc.
What you’ll be doing
To provide technical leadership across the application while being able to individually contribute towards the application development, review, etc.
To work closely with users, Network designers, platform architects, Service solution designers, business analysts, service design architects
To provide technical assistance to the testing (iVVT and CST) and development activities and take responsibility for assisting developers for any defects that may arise during these activities.
To provide innovative ideas to reduce systems complexity and costs
Involvement with Operations to understand user-experience to inform the direction of improvements – drive specific enhancements to components
Drive specific improvements of work in their components
Support the Bugs and Problems user may face.
To interface with both the vendors and internal organisation at architects/designers/developers level.
Work as a team player to ensure the committed deadline is met with quality
To work with programme managers and colleagues across BT to ensure programmes/projects are successful and integrated with other programmes taking place across the company.
To ensure the appropriate change control processes are established.
Open to evaluate latest technologies and willingness to innovate.
Skills/Qualification
Minimum Qualification - Engineering Graduate OR Equivalent
Java - Expert
J2EE - Expert
Data Structures, OO concepts and Programming Skills - Expert
Design Patterns - Expert
Web frameworks (e.g. Struts or Spring or JSF etc.) - Expert
JDBC and ORM framework (e.g. hibernate or ibatis etc.) - Expert
JUNIT and test driven development - Expert
RDBMS Concepts - Intermediate
Enterprise Architecture - Intermediate
UML - Intermediate
WebServices and XML - Intermediate
HTML , JavaScript and JSON - Intermediate
SQL, PL/SQL - Intermediate
Build tools (e.g. Ant or Maven) - Intermediate
Web Server and Application Server (e.g. Weblogic) Knowledge - Intermediate
Unix environment, shell scripting - Intermediate
Certifications - Nice to have
Telecom Experience like SDN, NFV etc. - Intermediate
Nosql - Intermediate
CI/CD ( Jenkins , SVN/GIT, cucumber ) - Intermediate
