The Boeing Company is currently seeking a F/A-18 Mission Systems Integration & Test Engineer to join the Live Virtual Constructive (LVC) Team located in Berkeley, MO. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.

The LVC team is responsible for designing, developing and delivering LVC training solutions for the F/A-18 and EA-18G. These systems blend Live, Virtual, and Constructive domains to generate readiness, enhance proficiency, and optimize training for aviators. Injecting synthetic threats into Live aircraft cockpits as well as linking Live aircraft to ground based training devices for full LVC systems. Boeing’s LVC systems are built on a Common Simulation Framework (CSF) backbone and utilize simulation protocols such as Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) and High Level Architecture (HLA). This position will expose you to pilot training tactics, simulation standards and tactical and training datalinks. LVC is the next generation training capability at the forefront of current and future training systems and Boeing is on the cutting edge of this technology.

As a member of the LVC team you will be designing, developing and testing both aircraft software as well as Ground Based Training Systems (GBTS) for LVC. Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop software system requirements

  • Perform software integration and testing

  • Architect system design and generate system diagrams to meet software and hardware requirements

  • Act in a forward-facing role, interacting with multiple customers fielding and supporting training systems

  • Participate as a member of a high performing, collaborative team

  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic, excellent time-management, and interpersonal skills

  • Use agile methodologies to support all aspects of product development

  • Ability to work with multiple teams to identify and resolve issues

  • Clearly communicate issues and suggest alternative paths forward

  • Participate in team and system demonstrations to accept completed stories/features

  • Advocate, recommend, & champion process improvements

  • Configure, standup and test hardware

  • Troubleshoot systems (hardware and software)

  • Support proposal efforts for new-build and maintenance efforts

  • Develop test plans and procedures for system under development

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Associate and Experienced F/A-18 Mission Systems Integration & Test Engineers.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, environmental science, chemistry, geology, physics, computer science or mathematics

  • 1+ years of experience in an avionics, electrical, and/or a mission systems role

  • 1+ years of experience in software integration

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience working in a Scaled Agile Environment

  • Experience with agile workflow tools such as VersionOne or JIRA

  • Requirements management tools such as DOORS

  • Basic familiarity with PERL, Python or simliar scripting languages

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience working in a team environment

  • Experience with aircraft platforms, aviation, simulation, and training systems

  • Knowledge of aircraft/aircrew training and/or ground based training standards

  • Requirements and Verification Procedures development and testing (specifically for SW products)

  • Familiarity with DIS, SISO-J, TENA, HLA, MIL-STD-6016, and MIL-STD-1553 protocols.

Typical Education/Experience:

Associate Level 2:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Experienced Level 3:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary Pay Range (Associate Level 2): $79,900- $108,100

Summary Pay Range (Experienced Level 3): $96,050 - $129,950
