PAC Worldwide Corp Machine Operator Lead - 3rd Shift in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania

Reference #: 3757 Description Leads, assists, troubleshoots, and trains production personnel on shift in performing operations according to sound operating principles and company policies and procedures with integrity and ethical behaviors to meet established performance goals. Primary goals: Ensure safety of personnel and equipment Ensure quality of our products and quality of employee performance Provide continual training of crews in all aspects of operations Achieve performance goals as directed

3rd Shift, Sunday - Thursday, 11:00pm - 7:00am

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Performs safety inspections as required to ensure the safety of personnel and equipment, corrects deficiencies or enters maintenance requests. Provide safety training to team members as needed. Practice and encourage safe behaviors and ensure that all safety procedures are followed. Perform safety, quality and productivity standard work as assigned. Perform assigned safety, quality and production audits as assigned. Verify/conduct required quality checks of the machines throughout the department. Assist supervisor daily with staffing, rework, safety incident investigations, and other pertinent projects or issues for the shift. Work directly with the Learning and Development (L&D) Department in training of new employees. Use positive communication skills to promote teamwork and a team atmosphere. Ensure housekeeping is a priority for Packers and Operators - make assignments to Operators and crews as necessary to maintain 5S Standards. Assist Machine Operators on all machines with setups and troubleshooting of downtime events. Have a working knowledge or be able to run machines in the production area. Ability to resolve technical problems independently through multiple types of machinery. Work directly with the shift maintenance technicians to ensure timely and appropriate repair/troubleshooting work. Provide daily feedback to management on machine performance as well as any personnel performance issues that arise. Understand and enforce general rules in accordance with our employee handbook. Knowledgeable of the converting/thermoforming scheduling programs. Knowledgeable of the production data collection (T1), material management and converting/thermoforming scheduling programs. Assume Supervisor duties in his/her absence as directed from management Willing to work overtime on short notice. Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities: None Indirect, except when filling in for the supervisor (Machine Operators and Machine Packers)

Qualifications:

General: Must be able to adapt and work efficiently in a fast-pace environment Must be capable of maintaining good attendance

Education and/or Experience: Must have a high school diploma or its equivalency 2 years knowledge of all packaging equipment and procedures 2 years in flexible packaging industry or equivalent

Language Skills: Must be able to read, speak, and write English with strong interpersonal skills

Mathematical Skills: Must be capable of performing addition, subtraction, multiplication and division calculations

Reasoning Ability: Must possess good organization and time management skills and practices

Computer Skills: Must be capable of using a computer to complete reports, schedules, etc. as needed Microsoft Office strongly preferred

Work is performed by using both hands and arms while in a standing position for an eight to twelve-hour shift. Frequently bends, reaches, twists, pushes, pulls, squats, or kneels. Must be capable of lifting 70 lbs. from floor to waist on occasion.
