Job Description Summary

Avio Aero is a world class Leader of aeroengine propulsion, engaged in design and development of engines dedicated for commercial and military application.

In this spirit, we are looking for a talented FEM engineer in Avio Polska Bielsko Biala location.

Aim of this role is to support design of aviation engine components by performing structural finite element analysis and interpret obtained results. (Engine and gear box Structures, Power Turbine Nozzles and Rotor).

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Support design of engine components by finite element analysis, tools, and other analytical methods to meet internal and external customer requirements:

  • Finite element models preparation (Mesh, Boundary Conditions and Loads application) of engine metal components – Ansys, HyperMesh or equivalent

  • Perform structural FE analysis aimed to meet strength and life requirements – Ansys

  • Results postprocessing and interpretation

  • Document technical reports and data archivization

  • Participate and lead Technical Reviews with Senior Engineers and Program Leaders

  • Collaborate with other engineering teams to ensure product performance and safety

  • Analyze and document certification test results to substantiate requirements from aviation regulatory agencies

  • Develop and execute new ideas for engineering processes improvements and simplification

  • Analytical support and substantiation of manufacturing non conformances

Qualifications/Requirements and Desired Characteristics:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering: Mechanical, Aviation, Physics or related

  • Fundamental technical knowledge of aviation engine components, fatigue, mechanics and finite element methodology

  • Experience in structural finite element model analysis (Ansys, HyperWorks – HyperMesh, HyperView or equivalent)

  • Practical use of MS Office (Excel, Power Point, Outlook)

  • Fundamental knowledge of manufacturing processes and material application in aviation industry

  • Fundamental knowledge and skills related to drawings drafting and 3d modelling. (CAD – UG)

  • Strong oral and written communication skills – English, Polish

  • Problem solving

  • Ability to work effectively in multinational team and changing environment
