Kuehne+Nagel National Road Logistics Business Development Manager in Milton Keynes, United Kingdom

The National Road Logistics Business Development Manager will have a dual role with the primary focus of developing business for the road logistics business unit.

Your Role

You will spend 50% of your time developing a predefined pipeline of up to 15 strategic customers, carrying an individual target for turnover and adhering to Kuehne + Nagel’s tender management methodology. The other 50% will involve acting as the liaison between the KAM communities and the road business unit stakeholders. Your goal is to support the development of road logistics opportunities from our global accounts and expand knowledge of KN road products and capabilities within our National & Global Key Account Manager communities. This position is open in one of our offices located in Birmingham, Nottingham or Milton Keynes and requires mobility within these areas.

Your Responsibilities

  • Identify and generate new business opportunities from strategic road logistics prospect accounts and Kuehne + Nagel’s Global & National accounts.

  • Drive business growth and development in sales, support processes, and provide support at a national level, including business planning, customer interfacing, and account tracking.

  • Manage RFI and RFQ processes using Kuehne + Nagel’s Tender Management Methodology.

  • Share knowledge and engage with teams to keep them updated on critical product information.

  • Collaborate with all business units to develop and support new traffic and product services.

  • Report regularly on success, pipeline, and lost opportunities.

  • Lead key implementations using Kuehne + Nagel’s GCIM Methodology.

  • Monitor competition and market trends to stay updated and maintain expertise on assigned routes.

Your Skills and Experiences

  • Experience in logistics and senior sales positions required.

  • Knowledge of the EU road logistics market.

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

  • Strong commercial acumen.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • High attention to detail.

  • Ability to interpret and analyze complex data.

  • Effective influencing and negotiating abilities.
