Conduent Team Leader, Payroll Services in Birmingham, United Kingdom

As Payroll Team Leader you are responsible for the daily running and management of a Team of 20. Conduent deliver a Payroll service to a multinational professional services organisation with a monthly UK payroll of circa 25,000 employees.

Continuously striving towards excellence, you are responsible for setting and monitoring objectives and targets for your team as well as planning areas of improvement or development.

Working in partnership with the client, the Payroll Service Centre Team Lead ensures that SLA’s and KPI’s are managed by agents within agreed time scales and in an appropriate and pro-active manner.

Your role will require you to liaise with the client as well as third parties, to coordinate and motivate service centre staff and support with staff recruitment.

Hybrid - Birmingham City Centre (2 days in the office)

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Setting and meeting performance targets for effectiveness, efficiency, and quality; you will be responsible for all areas of activity relating to Payroll processing, enquiries, and escalations.

  • Act as a role model in leading and motivating the team to achieve objectives and provide world class customer service

  • To ensure all targets are adhered to in accordance with the monthly payroll calendar.

  • Identifying process improvements to ensure more efficient processes across the team.

  • Analyse daily, weekly and monthly statistics to enable the team to meet Quality, SLA and KPI objectives contractually agreed with the client.

  • Supporting Management in the daily running of the end-to-end payroll processing.

  • Liaising with colleagues across the account and third parties to gather information to resolve issues and resolve escalations.

  • Ensuring all processes are clearly documented and process improvements are driven through to completion

  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation and legal changes.

  • Reviewing the performance of staff, identifying training needs and planning training sessions.

  • Recording statistics and the performance levels of the centre and preparing reports.

  • Organising and forecasting of resource requirements, including shift patterns and the number of staff required to meet peak and off-peak season

  • Coaching, motivating and retaining staff. Scheduling one to one meetings to work with team members and to develop skills

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years’ experience as a Team Leader delivering a UK payroll. Experience in leading people within a demanding and highly professional working environment.

  • Experience of working with Workday

  • Experience in a bureau/outsourcing environment is highly desirable.

  • Excellent people management skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills,

  • Demonstrable experience of working in a client facing role.

  • Good organisational and analytical skills.

  • Problem solving and decision-making skills.

  • Highly motivated, proactive and flexible.

  • Can work to deadlines with efficiency and accuracy.
