Title: O&M Gas Systems Engineer

Job Summary and Description:
The Facilities Gas Systems Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., is responsible for working in a team environment with other engineering fields to support safe, reliable and efficient gas delivery systems in support of semiconductor manufacturing. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Safety & Quality:
Finishes the required safety training and conducts all work in accordance with Micron and Technology Development (TD) safety policies
Stops work for safety if unsafe conditions and/or behaviors are identified
Applies and reviews job hazard analysis (JHA/JSA) for work being performed
Follows all safety and environmental procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws including PPE, CoHe (lockout /tagout) and chemical safety
Follows-up on safety and quality related issues immediately and works towards resolution with partners
Actively participates in the EHS program by reporting all EHS-related concerns or problems immediately (maximum 24 hours)
Performs and facilitates audits and submits good catches
Always wears appropriate PPE, per JHA, supervisor, EHS professionals, and/or job designation
Proactively finds opportunities to reduce potential hazards which may impact personnel health and/or the environment
Uses proper lifting techniques and works in an ergonomically correct manner
Follows proper organisational change practices to ensure safety and quality expectations are met
Leads quality improvement initiatives in their area of expertise to reduce Fab impacts, improve efficiency and drive cost savings
Reviews designs as assigned to ensure they are within manufacturer’s and company guidelines to ensure safety and quality expectations are met
Owns content of construction specifications, design standards and design checklists that ensure quality, efficiency and safe work
Ensures specifications, standard and checklists are aligned with corporate guidelines
Leads system solving efforts when requested
Leads lessons learned type activities per area of expertise
Communication & Collaboration:
Ensures appropriate communication with facilities and manufacturing partners
Partners with key stakeholders to develop solutions to continuously improve critical metrics
Partners with collaborators to resolve equipment/process issues and improve system reliability
Collaborates with areas leaders to create personal performance and development goals
Communicates proactively with leaders and customers on the daily priorities and issues improvement
Communicates changes made to equipment and follows business rules for change control
Partners in data collection, gap analysis, and improvement implementation
Proactively communicates issues that could cause Fab impact, defects, tool restrictions, or lost moves
Coordinates with customers and leaders on issues and changes, and provides regular status updates
Broadens cross-disciplinary knowledge through new assignments
Listens to customer feedback, recognizes opportunities and provides feedback for technical innovation
Uses questioning skills to better understand customer needs
Interprets customer needs to identify potential opportunities
Communicates highly complex information to internal and external contacts
Exchanges complex information with colleagues and managers
Provides advice and guidance to less experienced team members
Project Management/Planning:
Uses a systematic project management methodology to develop, prioritize and manage projects
Manages projects to ensure results are completed within the required scope, schedule and budget
Tracks actions and provides escalation path or resources to ensure actions will be completed on time
Defines and leads complex, multi-disciplinary projects of critical importance to Micron
Collaborates with partners on the design and coordination of projects
Prepares project scope and ensures necessary guidance from appropriapartnersers
Ensures that scope meets requestor needs
Collaborates with consultant resources
Coordinates and leads meetings and initiates follow-up actions
Provides support for the installation or commissioning of new facilities infrastructure
Provides support for cost and schedule estimates and justification for approval
Reviews design packages
Follows change management procedures
Works with appropriate personnel to address problems or make corrections
Supports equipment startup and commissioning
Helps to shape strategic decisions and provides technical support
Collaborates with Procurement, Manufacturing and appropriate partners on new tool/system purchases
Technical/Data Analysis:
Analyzes systems data to make critical decisions, improve performance, gain efficiency, and drive cost savings
Provides effective and timely guidance to resolve issues and is highly engaged in key problem resolution
Provides solving support for complex problems and addresses root cause
Performs problem analysis using standard tools and methodologies
Supports risk and/or failure mode and effects analysis
Eliminates single points of failure and mitigates risk
Provides consultation and technical support to Operations, Maintenance, Manufacturing and other department/sites
Provides engineering support to ensure facility compliance with federal, state, and local laws
Identifies and develops a strategy for equipment/processes that streamlines PM frequencies and effectiveness
Partners with key collaborators to identify gaps and opportunities for equipment/process efficiencies
Works with Manufacturing on excursion root cause identification, elimination, and prevention
Supports corporate requests and assignments
Supports benchmark activities on operational, procedural, engineering, facilities systems
Maintains applicable subject area knowledge, such as chemical theory, instrumentation control theory, high purity principles, etc.
Drives a culture of TPM including TPM metrics, CIP items, MTAGs, and procedures
Applies standard engineering principles and practices
Applies administrative and engineering databases in support of job tracking, engineering data, and capital equipment facilitation
Performs research and development on emerging facilities technologies to support innovative semiconductor processes
Incorporates safety controls in every aspect of the design, enhancement, and modification process

Strong understanding of data extraction, data analysis and reporting methodologies
Strong understanding of the manufacturing process areas, process flow and main utility systems related to area equipment

Strong mechanical proficiency with the ability to understand asolveoot mechanical systems
Education and Experience:
Required: Minimum – Relevant degree or appropriate certification/licensing; Engineering, Semiconductor, Chemistry, or related field of study
Preferred: Five or more years of experience
