Advanced Programs is looking for a proven engineering leader to join our rapidly growing technical team as a Sr. Staff Algorithm Software Engineer based out of Boulder, CO or Redondo Beach, CA.
We are seeking an engineering leader with deep experience in autonomous systems algorithms and software development who will lead integrated capability development in an emerging portfolio of products leveraging various sensor technologies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
As a Sr. Staff Algorithm Software Engineer within Advanced Programs, your proven technical leadership experience will be critical to the program's success. You will be guiding overall architecture strategy and development, teaming with Program Managers to both meet and define emerging requirements. You will be working with a fast-paced and exciting research and development environment that utilizes your familiarity with modern software practices. You are expected to communicate technical information effectively and clearly, and present technical approaches and findings. Our team of motivated technical talent works closely with the end user (and each other) to ensure the direct mission applicability of developed products.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 14 years of related experience or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 12 years of experience, or a PhD and 10 years of experience
Experience in C/C++ programming
Experience with embedded systems and integrated Command and Control Systems
Experience with state of the art Airborne Autonomous Systems
Experience in Space Based systems and Ground System development
Experience processing and analyzing sensor measurements
Familiarity with Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) and Electro-Optical Infrared (EOIR) sensors and simulations
Ability and willingness to travel up-to 10% to support business needs
Applicants must have an active in-scope U.S. Government DoD issued Top Secret security clearance at the time of application which is required to start.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proven successful performance in technical oversight of broad SW development efforts including integration of capabilities across multiple technical specialties
Prior experience leading Sector Priority investments/pursuits
Familiarity with radar sensors and simulations
Experience working in a Linux environment.
Salary Range: $188,200 - $282,200
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
