Job Title: CNC Programmer (CAM)

Classification: Salaried (Non Exempt)

Department: Tooling

Reports to: Tooling Supervisor

Hours: Monday-Friday 7-3:30

Purpose:

Work closely with Tooling Supervisor and Engineering staff to support and improve manufacturing operations which include troubleshooting equipment or process issues.  As a Programmer the Technician will perform basic tasks related to equipment setup, operation, training, and maintenance.  Assist Engineering and Supervision meet departmental goals through the setup of test equipment, performing testing, and validating processes.

General Duties:

  • Help identify and troubleshoot process, or equipment problems to reduce cycle time and recommend solutions.

  • Assist in the development and help maintain training materials on processes related to but not limited to the die repair machining process at KAAP.

  • Assist with the hands on training of manufacturing employees on welding settings, robot operation, and software revisions.

  • Assist Tooling Supervisor and Engineers with revisions and improvements to current manufacturing methods and procedures, including updating process documentation.

  • Perform Time/Performance studies to quantify process improvements and identify areas for process improvement.

  • Assist in failure analysis, troubleshooting, rework/repair of non-conforming products to determine root cause and identify countermeasures.

  • Perform tests, gather data, and write reports as needed utilizing various mediums (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)

    Skills:

  • Required Education & Experience:

  • Associate’s Degree in Engineering or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to perform all assigned tasks, work independently, and complete work on schedule.

  • Follow Supervisors/Engineers direction while displaying cooperative and positive behavior with co-workers.

  • Basic understanding of die repair process and work flow.

  • Ability to develop and execute a detailed plan.

  • Strong Problems solving skills and efficient management of time and resources.

    Preferred:

  • Prior experience in metals manufacturing environment.

  • Experience with 2D or 3D CAD system, CAM software a plus.

    Requirements:

  • Sit/Stand/Walk 8 hrs./day

  • Ability to lift 75 lbs.
