Job Description
The successful candidate will report to the Lab Supervisor and will conduct testing on various Research projects for the Fall 2024 Co-Op term . The Laboratory Technician will compile reports to determine product compliance to company standards and quality.
Performing quality assurance testing on asphalt roofing shingle products and raw materials for compliance with company standards.
Taking direction from Lab Supervisor or Corporate Quality Engineer to conduct research projects.
Complying laboratory reports based on interpreting research data for evaluation by the Lab Supervisor.
Following and adhering to Internal Laboratory SOPs, ASTMs and UL test methods.
Maintaining good record keeping practices and strict adherence to quality and safety programs.
Receiving samples from various internal and external customers and assigning sample numbers for identification.
Maintaining accuracy and calibration of laboratory testing equipment.
Other projects and assignments related to research and quality assurance may be assigned.
Work with production plants within IKO to provide support and supplemental research data.
Our ideal candidate would be:
Preference towards senior students.
Experience in a laboratory environment desired
Fluent working knowledge of Microsoft Office required
Experience with advanced Excel functions preferred
Ability to manage and prioritize several projects at a time
Strong commitment to Health, Safety and the Environment
Effective team player with a positive, adaptable attitude
Possess solid problem solving and critical thinking skills
Possess effective oral and written communication skills
Possess the ability to work independently
Must be self-motivated, results and action oriented
Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds on a routine basis
Wage
- $22/hour - $24/hour
Hours/ Days / Schedule
- Hours of work will be primarily Monday through Friday {30 - 40 hours, day shift}.
