At Amgen Breda, medicines are labeled, assembled, stored, and eventually shipped to various countries worldwide. Every day more than 1000 people from 38 different nationalities are working on supply chain processes, manufacturing, marketing, and sales of our medicines and clinical research into new medicines.

The Global Study Planners (GSPs) at Amgen are responsible for ensuring the timely packaging, labeling, and distribution of investigational products for clinical trials worldwide. As part of our commitment to Execution Excellence, we seek an intern to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of critical processes within our GSP Support Office. Specifically, the intern will focus on optimizing the Material Destruction process and the End of Study process.

Key Responsibilities:

Understand Existing Workflows:

  • Familiarize yourself with the current workflows and systems used by the Global Support Office.

  • Identify pain points and areas for improvement.

Evaluate Efficiency:

  • Use swim lanes to measure the efficiency and effectiveness of existing workflows.

  • Analyze bottlenecks and inefficiencies.

Recommendations and Digital Solutions:

  • Develop recommendations for modifying workflows.

  • Integrate digital solutions (e.g., automation) to enhance efficiency.

Implementation and Change Management:

  • Ensure successful implementation of new processes.

  • Establish controls and manage change effectively.

Resource Development:

  • Create controlled documents and resources to support the adoption of optimized processes.

To be successful as an intern you need the following:

  • Be a Final year student, with HBO studies in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or Economics.

  • Have proficiency in English (both verbal and written. Dutch is a plus).

  • Experience in Digitalization and Change management.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.

  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Natural problem solver.

  • Conflict management and negotiation abilities.

  • Project management experience.
