About the role

  • Our Supply Chain Excellence team, composed of 3 people, is integrated into the GBU (Global Business Unit) Industrial Department and focuses on deploying transport and logistics safety policies and strategies, and improving, deploying and controlling the GBU Supply Chain processes in collaboration with GBU Business. The Product Safety Support Expert is a global position in the GBU Peroxides, reporting directly to the GBU Supply Chain Excellence Leader. You will be responsible for managing and coordinating all activities related to ensure the safe use, transport and storage of our products through the entire supply chain.

  • As a Product Safety Support Expert , you will work directly with our customers with the support of Commercial teams, our plants and our Supply Chain teams worldwide. You will get the opportunity to contribute to ensuring the sustainability of our business and a positive impact on our customers.

  • You will be accountable for:

  • Support the Peroxides logistics activities from a safety and technical perspective by engaging regional teams, coordinating with internal functions, and working with external suppliers. Provide technical recommendations, definitions, and documentation and share best tools, processes and practices. Strong focus on safety improvements and increased risk awareness by all stakeholders. The incumbent will perform Solvay and customers' site safety visits, produce reports, and organize and support broader safety training and supply chain initiatives.

  • Process owner and technical referent for site logistics activities and transport safety. Ensure the continuous animation and coordination of the network of manufacturing personnel performing these operations in all GBU sites, also in close collaboration with the regional supply chain teams. A clear matrix detailing the different roles and responsibilities exists and should be maintained by the incumbent, the fact that in the Peroxides GBU, these processes are managed within the supply chain but are frequently operated by the manufacturing teams.

  • Act as GBU Dangerous Good Safety Adviser (ADR / IMDG / IATA Certification). Support and train logistics and customer service teams in all questions related to the transportation of GBU products, namely help to mitigate all regulatory or technical issues raised regarding transportation “hardware” (transport materials, handling equipment and procedures, iso-containers,…).

  • Transport and customer events (H2O2 and PAA) investigation, identifying root causes and producing safety reports to be shared within the GBU community. Collaborate in the analysis of all major logistics incidents with other GBUs and/or the Group Industrial Function teams (especially TS, PS and HSE depending on the place of the incident or near-miss).

  • Ensure that clear documentation exists on recommended customer equipment and processes (unloading, handling, storage, filling lines, etc. ) and, when requested, provide advice and assistance on their correct use and handling of the GBU products both internally and at customer sites and facilities.

  • We offer a permanent contract based on a hybrid working mode (preferably based in Europe).

  • Travel Requirements: High level of flexibility and willingness to travel (30-50% of the time including some international travel).

About you

  • Bachelor's degree (BS) in chemistry or engineering; or 5 to 10 years minimum related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Industrial experience or knowledge of equipment used for the storage, dosing and utilization of Peroxygens in a process

  • English speaking, any other language will be a plus

About the pay and benefits

Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. While the Belgium base pay reasonably expected for this role is € 82,240.00 to € 102,800.00, your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
